Workshop Programmes
Three Programmes, Each With a Defined Scope
Escaphaus does not offer open-ended repair estimates. Each programme describes exactly what is included, the working-day window, and the rate — before any work begins.

How Work Is Structured
Condition Assessment
Every piece is examined before any programme is selected. The assessment covers the movement condition, case seals, crown and pushers, and any visible damage. Nothing is assumed.
Scope and Cost Confirmation
The applicable programme, any additional findings, and the total cost are confirmed with the owner before bench work begins. The scope does not expand without agreement.
Bench Work and Testing
Work proceeds against the confirmed scope. Each stage is recorded on the job card. Testing follows the programme specification — not a single check at the end.
Programme 01
Quartz Module Service and Battery Programme
Battery replacement with gasket renewal, circuit and coil resistance checks, contact cleaning and module exchange where a board has failed. Written for owners of everyday quartz watches and chronographs that have stopped or run slow.
Current draw measurement recorded on the job card
Pusher and crown seal inspection
Insulator replacement
Two-year battery interval note based on measured draw
Service Steps
RM 480
3–5 working days
Programme 02
Chronograph Mechanism Service
Column wheel or cam-lever chronograph service covering pusher rebuild, clutch and hammer adjustment, cleaning, lubrication and reset alignment, followed by function testing across all subdial counters. Suited to owners whose pushers have grown stiff or whose hands fail to return to zero.
Function test log for start, stop and reset across 200 cycles
Pusher gasket set included
Hand alignment under magnification
Clutch and hammer adjustment completed

Aimed at private collectors and family collections held across generations.

Best for
Quartz Battery Programme
Owners of a quartz watch that has stopped, runs slow, or is overdue for a battery change.
Best for
Chronograph Service
Owners of a chronograph with stiff pushers, a slow-returning hand, or subdials that no longer function correctly.
Best for
Collection Care Agreement
Private collectors or inherited collections holding three or more mechanical pieces without a clear service history.
Shared Standards
Protocols Applied Across All Programmes
Scope Confirmed in Writing
No programme proceeds without the owner's written or verbal confirmation of scope and cost. The job card records this confirmation.
Measurements Recorded
Relevant measurements — current draw for quartz, timing rate for mechanical — are taken and noted before and after work where applicable.
Separate Case Handling
Cases, crystals, and bracelets are handled and stored separately from movement work to prevent contact damage during bench operations.
Individual Tracking
Each watch carries its own job number through every stage. Pieces are not co-located with other jobs at the bench.
Timeline Communication
If a turnaround window changes — due to a part requirement or unexpected finding — the owner is contacted before the stated deadline passes.
Climate-Adjusted Advice
All interval and storage recommendations are written for Johor Bahru's conditions — not carried over from temperate-climate reference tables.
